Now for something completely different - A video!

I've been playing around with various weathering techniques over the past couple of years, including PanPastels, acrylic washes, airbrush weathering and combinations of all of them.  More recently I have found something I really like - oil pin washes.

I did a quick video on the technique, hopefully it is something people might give a try.  You'll be happy you did.

  1. Thanks, Marc, for the great instructional video. I’m looking forward to achieving some subtle effects such as these. Cheers,

  2. This was a very watchable video, well explained and filmed steady, great to see the effect build up. I prefer to use modelling enamel paints, but use very similar techniques and the small range of colours like you’ve used here. Can I offer another good finishing touch? Dry brush a metallic ‘gun metal’ along the edges of the foot steps, door handles, levers and the like, anywhere the paint may have worn off and be polished, it really lifts the final model.
